If people would have really feared the outcome of smoking, drugs and alcohol, they wouldn't be addicted to them. Somewhere the fear factor was just not adequate to deter them from indulging in those in spite of the horrendous anti tobacco posters.
If only people would have been afraid of all the punishments listed in our judiciary, crime rate would have been almost non existent, but maybe need or greed outlasted fear.
If only people would have been fearful enough to be careful, there wouldn't have been accidents and so many unnecessary deaths and casualties would have been prevented.
If only people would have have been afraid of a diseased debilitated life , then they would have taken some measures to fortify it and not waste it away with a dangerous lifestyle. They would have treasured life and the planet we live in, if only they had some fears and concern left for its endangered existence.
If only people had a fear for losing a loved one, then most would have taken their relationships a little seriously and attempted to make it better.
If only people would have been fearful of losing their honour and facing their conscience, a lot of wrong wouldn't have happened.
If only people would have feared God and judgement day, they would have thought twice before committing any acts of violence.
Imagine the effect of a fearless state in the minds of young children. No fear of fire, no fear of ghost,no fear of disease , death, no fear of grief, sorrows, failure. - A complete Utopia but only if you can protect them from the influences of evil and negativity. If not, then I think a little bit of fear in low doses is very much necessary to instill harmony and righteousness.
Bravery is so desirable. The thrill of living life on the edge is undeniably addictive. But somewhere down the line, a bit of fear.. yes a little bit of fear I desire.

Well said! A little bit of fear is like a harness!! Helps us keep ourselves under control!
